Shelley was extremely helpful in offering advice for our move from Townsville to Brisbane during a very busy period. Our visas for Australia were granted and we then had about six weeks to get our lives shifted to the other side of the world! We had looked at various options for finding accommodation and were really struggling, it looked like we were going to end up in a caravan park, not ideal for the five of us! I was then recommended Opal Relocations by a member of a Facebook page I was following and we seriously never looked back. Shelley was available at all time soft the day and night for a chat or to find out how things were going. She instantly managed to put our minds at ease and assured us that she would not take us on as clients if she wasn't certain she could help. So just to recap, we are not even in the country..we have a car, a piece of land, children enrolled in schools & we have a rental property with services connected! This is all down to Opal!!.So the result - we arrived in Brisbane with keys waiting, container arrived 2 sleeps later as we knew we had our rental secured, both kids in their new schools by the beginning of the week, enabling us to very quickly settle into our new lives and get a routine going.

When searching for a place to rent from the UK we were up against challenges from the start. My husband and I have a large dog and a cat. These two beautiful furbabies could have caused issues getting a landlord to lease to us. I seeked the advice of friends and was all told it would be fine 'just do it yourself- save your money' but after all the stresses of visas and skills assessments and simply the rest of what's involved in moving to Australia I thought I would take the stress out of one of the biggest tasks in our relocation. Ok get comfy!!...... we’ve been in this beautiful country for 7 weeks, and we only got here with ease with the help of the lovely Shelley (opal). We had NEVER been to Australia and had literally no idea where to start! To say I was worried/scared was an understatement. We decided to use Shelley after reading reviews, honestly I won’t lie I was scared of being scammed at 1st, I mean let’s be honest I was entrusting someone we didn’t know and paying for a service I also knew nothing about!Well I was very quickly put right at ease, Shelley called me and we chatted many times, she analysed our needs/wishes, which was fab because she suggested a school report ( I had thought of this) to help us decide an area, ( I have 4 sch aged kids) education and sch location was very important. This narrowed down very quickly the areas we wanted to live. Next was house hunting! She is so so good at this, she was honest with her opinion and advise, and I wanted this approach, we wouldn’t be able to buy a home for 3plus years so a nice/clean/child friendly area was what we needed.Shelley videoed the house views and I even got up early morning to live a view a few too, which was amazing.Shelley sorted all house application with the info we gave, it was so stress-free, Shelley does NOT let you be stressed, you can talk to her anytime about any worries/concerns.We were collected from the airport at a ridiculous time in the morning and created with a lovely friendly smile, ooooh and she even went shopping for us so we had food for the morning etc😊. The next morning she was back at our accommodation and took us for car hire, she also made up a lovely folder with LOTS of invaluable information; not only about the area we were staying in for 2 weeks but also about the area we would be moving too!! This lady does an amazing thing and I would absolutely recommend her service!! Oohhhh and she even came and helped us moved into out new house which was 90min drive! And sorted utilities for the house, I would have been a mess without Shelley, moving to other side of the world is not for the faint hearted, shelley had done this many years ago so she understood what we feeling and worries we had! I cannot thank her enough, I know see Shelley as a Friend and a wealth of knowledge that I can tap into any time

What can I say, Shelley is simply a resource you cannot do without. From the moment we were introduced, Shelley put us at ease. We opted for the family package which included a very in depth school search to narrow down our areas. Shelley also did a number of rental viewings remotely via video which made securing a rental no issue what so ever - even with 2 kids and an 8 year old Labrador! If fact once we found a house we liked, we had it secured within 24 hours! Totally stress free. Throughout, Shelley was always at the end of a message, phone or video call - at any time! When we arrived, Shelley met us from the airport - which was really great, considering we didn't know anyone whatsoever in Oz! A lovely friendly face after a long flight was worth so much. Shelley had already pre-booked us a hire car, so even dropped me off to collect that en route. Shelley has now become a friend in Oz, but not just any friend, our first friend and a special one at that. I contacted Opal Relocation services early this year to find out more about their services. We hadn’t yet received our visa so didn’t have any sort of timeline planned. We knew we were heading to Brisbane and decided to concentrate our search for an area to live on finding the best high school for our daughter who was going into year 7. After a very long chat where she talked us through everything and more and back and forth emails Shelley was really starting to put our minds at ease with the whole process. As soon as we received our visa grant in June we contacted Shelley and asked her to begin our education search. We received a questionnaire which was for Opal to get an idea of things we were looking for to help them narrow down our search. After a few days we received a very comprehensive report on 10 schools across Brisbane. Straight away I replied with questions about some of the schools and areas and we quickly narrowed it down to 3 schools, 2 of those being top state high schools in Brisbane! Until the day we flew I continued to bombard Shelley with questions about everything and she was very happy to help. By this time I felt we had our first friend in Brisbane and she really did make me feel a lot less anxious about the whole move. When we arrived we started looking for houses and still Shelley continued to answer all my questions. We took on a house rental privately without using an agent and she talked us through all the legal side to make sure we were fully covered with the paperwork. She also came to visit and introduce herself to us and even brought Gin as we had just moved in and were unprepared for visitors lol😊When we visited the high school with my daughter for her enrolment interview and then a couple of weeks later for her orientation day we knew that Opal really had come through for us and my daughter is so happy with her new school as are we. 6 weeks later I still ask Shelley questions about anything and everything and she also put me in touch with another one of her families down the road who has a daughter the same age as my eldest and looking for friends.
